Cambridge AS/A Level is typically for learners aged 16 to 19-years (Grades 12-13) who need advanced study to prepare for higher education and university entrance course.
Exams are taken at the end of each course
Each subject receives a separate grade
Most exams can be written in June and November with flexibility of timing
Cambridge have an agreement with USAf (Universities South Africa) in terms of the combination of subjects which would allow students into South African Universities
Once a learner has received all their results from Cambridge, the student can apply for a certificate of exemption from USAf and can then apply to study at their chosen university
Students can apply to USAf prior to release of results, which allows USAf time to process payments sooner to assist students with issuing of exemption certificates
